The Nuggets still have a tight point guard situation, but pursuing Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Hornets could not hurt.

The Denver Nuggets may be grooming Jamal Murray to be their point guard of the future, but he is still technically a shooting guard. With Jameer Nelson getting older and Emmanuel Mudiay remaining a question mark, the Nuggets could look to make a block buster trade.

With Kyrie Irving being out of the question, there are still options out there the Nuggets could analyze. Many are wanting the Nuggets to re-open negotiations with the Suns for Eric Bledsoe after they made a play for him in the draft, but as much as I want him in the Mile High, I don’t see Phoenix giving him up after an impressive draft.

One point guard they could try for is Kemba Walker. Walker has been the staple of the Hornets for a few years now and has proven to be a consistent and worthy player. He is a borderline All-Star which means the Nuggets would possess a big three if they did trade for him consisting of the great scoring point guard, Nikola Jokic and Paul Millsap. Kemba is in a difficult situation with Charlotte as they are almost in a stagnant state right now, so coming to Denver would give him the opportunity to find more success.

Denver would have to unload some of their point guards, but with how inconsistent Mudiay has been and Nelson aging, I say it is worth it. This would then give Murray a chance to back up one of the best in the business and learn from Walker at the point guard spot. Not to mention, it could open up a spot for Monte Morris on the roster as well.

This trade is very unlikely, but it could massively benefit Denver. (Note, this trade is NOT a verified rumor.)
