Gary Harris: Time to ask Kobe for a defensive challenge
By Mathew Huff
Gary Harris is Denver’s best defensive player, but he could really take the league by storm this coming season.
Gary Harris has been one of the biggest steals for the Denver Nuggets. Every year he has been in the league, he has significantly improved in many facets of his game. Many are now speculating he could make the next step to super stardom with the help of Nikola Jokic.

With this in mind, Harris should take to twitter and do something to push him to the next level next year. He should ask the legendary Kobe Bryant for a Mamba challenge particularly on the defensive end of the floor.
Harris saw a bit of a decrease in defensive production last year, so it would make sense for him to re-focus his energy on this side of the floor.
Kobe recently issued a challenge to Isiah Thomas to make the First Team All NBA squad.
It did not end there. Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antekounmpo actually asked the Mamba for a challenge of his own. Kobe’s response? A tall task as he challenged the Greek Freak to win the MVP (Most Valuable Player) award.
He also recently issued a challenge to John Wall to achieve All First Team Defense.
Gary Harris could really thrive if he takes on a challenge by the Black Mamba himself. I may be a bit biased as Harris is my favorite player on the Nuggets, but I firmly believe he has the potential to become the next super star two guard in today’s NBA.
Harris is always improving his game and is vastly underrated, so him asking Kobe for a challenge will push him to even higher limits. Gary could have a shot at making the All First Defensive Team if he really applies himself this coming year.
Next: Murray will have a big season
Why not ask Bryant to issue him a challenge of his own? If anyone could rise the Kobe’s challenge on the Nuggets, it is Gary Harris.
