Nuggets agree to deal with Josh Childress
The Nuggets have agreed to terms on a deal veteran Josh Childress.
The deal has yet to be officially announced by the team, but is rumored to be a one-year non-guaranteed deal, but for the deal to include more money than most non-guaranteed contracts. Childress hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2013-2014 season when he played with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Childress has played eight seasons in the NBA and has played in 391 NBA games. In his NBA career, Childress averaged 9.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Childress has been around the block and has had stints playing in Greece, Australia, and the NBA development league.
Childress most recently played with the Ball Hogs in the Big3, which was the new 3 on 3 basketball league that featured a lot of former NBA stars. Childress is the first player to sign an NBA contract who played in the Big3 league.
Childress will be an interesting guy to watch in camp and will look to compete for one of the remaining roster spots on the Nuggets roster. Childress is a shooting guard/small forward type of payer so it’ll be interesting to see if the Nuggets give him a chance to be one of there back up small forwards.
This may seem like an odd signing, but only time will tell if it was a smart choice for the Nuggets organization.
For all we know, he may just be an extra body for the Nuggets to utilize while training camp goes on, but he could also make a case for being the solidified back up small forward to Wilson Chandler. While Juancho Hernangomez can play very well at the three spot, he is technically a power forward so the Nuggets still have an open space at small forward.

The Childress situation will certainly be one to watch once training camp opens in a few weeks.
