While he does have a couple years left on his contract, the Nuggets need to look towards the future like they are with Gary Harris right now and decide if he deserves a new contract. After missing the entire 2015-16 season, Chandler bounced back nicely last year averaging a career high in points per game and stringing together some solid performances throughout the season.
However, there was some controversy, particularly around the trade deadline. Chandler made remarks which seemed to indicate he wanted out of the Mile High city and did not gain many favors with the fan base with his comments. As a result, many are wondering if he is worth keeping around long term.
There are key points to both sides of the argument. Letting Chandler go would mean letting go of perhaps the most versatile player on Denver’s roster without getting anything in return. On the other hand, having a player on a roster where he is potentially unhappy and wanting to go somewhere else could be disastrous for team chemistry.
This is where those who say Denver should trade him have a point. If he is truly unhappy in Denver, then why not see what the trade market would yield for him? Denver could then get something in return for the versatile wing.

The Nuggets have a tough decision to make regarding Wilson in the future, but if he plays as effectively as he did last season as a starter, it is worth considering giving him a new contract to keep him in the Mile High city.
