It’s about that time Nuggets fans, training camp is in session.
We are in the early stages of training camp, and one surprise player has already started to turn heads. That’s right, former NBL player in Australia Torrey Craig is making a name out for himself. Craig signed a two-way contract with the Nuggets this year, which means that he will spend a lot of time with the Sioux Falls Skyforce this year in the G-League as well.

This being said, I could see Craig sneaking in and taking some minutes at the three this season. I believe that he could be a great steal for the team, as he played extremely well in Summer League. He’s a three-point shooter, shooting about 40 percent from deep in the 2016-2017 season (per RealGM). Craig is 6’6, and has a frame that could translate to defensive success if used properly.
As I stated before, Craig will not be with the team for a lot of the time this year. In fact, with the way a two-way contract works, he is only allowed to be with Denver for up to 45 days. While this is a good amount of time, it may not be enough to truly know what he’s made of early in the NBA. He joins Monte Morris as the other player with a two-way contract on the Nuggets roster.
He could bring a good offensive energy off of the bench in a position that is very thin on the team. The only true listed small forward is Wilson Chandler, with Juancho Hernangomez playing valuable minutes there as well.
Next: Jamal Murray and Gary Harris: Future back court
Craig played all four seasons in college at South Carolina Upstate, before going undrafted in the 2014 draft. From there, he played three seasons in the National Basketball League, a professional league in Australia and New Zealand.
