The Denver Nuggets are coming off a great preseason win where they topped the defending champion Golden State Warriors 108-102.

They will remain in California to take on the rebuilding Los Angeles Lakers in their second preseason match up of the new NBA season. With this game, watch for more of the young players from both squads to get the majority of playing time and the stars to get minimal time to preserve them for the regular season which is quickly approaching.
Of course, the Lakers boast plenty of young lottery picks ranging from Brandon Ingram to newly acquired Lonzo Ball from this year’s NBA draft class. As a result, they may be out matched by the Nuggets just purely from an experience standpoint, but Denver still cannot overlook them. The Lakers have became somewhat of rival in the past 10 years or so, so anything goes whenever these two team go up against each other.
Some key match ups to watch are the possibilities of Jamal Murray and Lonzo Ball going up against each other along with Julius Randle against Nikola Jokic and/or Paul Millsap. Brandon Ingram on the Lakers wing may cause the Nuggets some fits throughout the game, but I expect Denver to prevail in a close game when it is all said and done.
Do not be surprised if Emmanuel Mudiay has another solid scoring performance as it sounds like every facet of his game has improved coming into training camp this year. As a result, do not be surprised if he starts out the game as the starting point guard as Coach Malone is still experimenting with who would be the best fit starting at point this coming regular season.
