The Denver Nuggets will battle the Oklahoma City Thunder in a tough match up.

The Denver Nuggets will take on division rival, Oklahoma City in their fifth preseason game of the year. It will be a tough game especially coming off a bad loss at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs.

More from Nugg Love

October 10 could see Carmelo Anthony and his new team going up against the new look Denver Nuggets, unless both teams decide to rest their starters as the regular season quickly approaches. If all the starters do play, it will be interesting to watch the contrast between the styles of play.

The Nuggets have a star duo in the front court with Nikola Jokic and Paul Millsap while the Thunder have the star trio of Westbrook, Anthony and George on the perimeter. The youth both teams possess will be one thing to watch as well as the Nuggets have a premier young core while the Thunder have an overlooked and underrated youth movement many people do not pay attention to as they are often overshadowed by the great Russell Westbrook.

Guys like Josh Huestis, who just recently recorded a game winning blocked shot, Terrance Ferguson, Jerami Grant and Isiah Canaan are players Denver cannot overlook or they will get torched badly like they did against the San Antonio Spurs.

Look for the Nuggets to make some defensive adjustments after the debacle in San Antonio where they lost 122-100 and allowed the Spurs to shoot 57% from the floor. The Nuggets are looking to end the preseason on a high note and what better way than defeating one of your biggest rivals before the new season begins.

It will not come easy though and I expect this to either be a competitive game from start to finish, or a runaway and nothing in between
