Kenneth Faried is in for a wild ride with the Nuggets this year.

Kenneth Faried is perhaps the most controversial player on the Nuggets roster as of right now. After making some head scratching comments about him thinking he is a starter on this roster before the preseason began, which resulted in many Denver fans calling for him to be traded.

Their concerns are well warranted, but Faried is still a Denver Nugget for now. He can still be a productive member on the bench by utilizing his specialty in cleaning the glass and grabbing second chance opportunities for the team. More possessions for this high powered Nuggets team means a better chance of winning games.

Kenneth Faried found a bit of success in the second unit last season and it will be up to him to find a key role on the second unit this year. His defense still leaves something to be desired, but he did show some improvements in other facets during preseason play.

He seemed much improved in his free throw shooting and actually showed a nice little mid range game making the defense respect him and leave the basket which helped the Nuggets offense flow even smoother.

Faried will once again be the poster child of Denver trade rumors this season, but if he can stay focused on his role and doing what the Nuggets need him to do, then he may still have a future with the franchise. Especially if he shows significant improvement on the defensive end of the court, then the team will still have a good use for the Manimal. However, his size works against him as he is undersized for the four spot.

Regardless, Kenneth Faried’s season with the Nuggets will be one to keep a close eye on as the year progresses.
