The Nuggets will open the season against the division rival, Utah Jazz.

The Denver Nuggets are ready to get things rolling in this new NBA season. After a hectic NBA off season filled with intriguing story lines which were more entertaining than last season’s NBA playoffs.

More from Nugg Love

One of which featured veteran star power forward, Paul Millsap coming home to the Mile High city. Now, it is time for every player to show what they are made of as the new year tips off. The Jazz are going to try to prove many doubters wrong this season as they lost Gordon Hayward in the off season leaving them with one star in Rudy Gobert, ( by the way, get well soon Hayward, keep your head up.)

The Jazz will be on a mission to make it back to the post season after a very impressive 2016-17 campaign and what better way to start than defeating a new look Northwest division foe. Denver will have to find a way to somewhat contain Rudy Gobert as Jokic doesn’t quite have the defensive prowess to stop him.

On the Nuggets’ side of the court, they will have to try to take advantage of their strong points on the perimeter with guys like Jamal Murray and Gary Harris. The Jazz lost George Hill this off season as well, so the Nuggets should have a slight edge in the point guard battle if they can find a way to neutralize Ricky Rubio’s passing ability.

They will have to play solid defense if they want to make a statement against the Jazz. Utah may only have one star, but they are still a team one cannot overlook, especially a division rival.

The Nuggets will be in for a competitive game, but there one thing we all can agree on, it is good to see basketball back in action.
