Despite nearly coming back in the fourth quarter, the Nuggets fell to the Knicks in New York.

The Denver Nuggets went back to their inconsistent ways in the Big Apple. After a great win over the Brooklyn Nets, Denver lost to the New York Knicks in a game which saw the Denver defense allow Kristaps Porzingis to score 38 points.

More from Nugg Love

Denver started off the game much too slow and even though they had a much better second half, it was too little too late in the end. They outscored the Knicks 38-19 in the third quarter, but Porzingis’ career night was just too much to overcome for the Nuggets as their defense still looks very porous.

Paul Millsap struggled for the first as a Denver Nugget as he only scored 8 points, but did grab 10 rebounds. Gary Harris was able get his token 18 points and Jamal Murray had another solid outing putting up 20 points on 50% shooting. Denver allowed the Knicks to shoot 40.6% from the three point line and allowed six different players to get into double figures.

The Nuggets offense went back to looking disjointed and out of order and the defensive rotations are still terrible and need much work. Wilson Chandler struggled yet again after having a great game against the Nets. Against New York, he only posted six points on 33% shooting.

In the Nuggets’ defense, the Knicks are riding high after defeating the Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers so momentum had a huge role in this loss. Denver has to start finding some type of team chemistry on both ends of the court before the season journeys too far into November when it will be too late to turn the tide.

Other than the team overcoming a 25 point deficit, it was an overall disappointing effort from the Nuggets against the Knicks.
