A win which saw Nikola Jokic out score the Nets starting five himself (41 points.) Now, they will be a part of a TNT match up which may be their most intriguing match up of the season so far. The Thunder will parade out their big three of Russell Westbrook, Paul George and former Nugget, Carmelo Anthony.
This will be an extremely tough match up for Denver, but they have a formidable front court which will be an interesting thing to watch. With Melo playing a stretch four position this year, this will feature a front court battle of Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic going up against Steven Adams and Carmelo Anthony.
Whoever wins this battle very well may dictate the outcome of the game. There is no way the Nuggets can slow down all three stars, so the best they can hope for is to at least contain two of the stars and make the other step up and get the Thunder role players involved. Forcing the Oklahoma City role players to step up will work into Denver’s benefit considering the Nuggets have a very strong second unit consisting of players who can get hot very quick.
This game could get away from the Nuggets quickly if they aren’t careful since the Thunder can score in bunches and are an improved three point shooting team. So, perimeter defense needs to be a focal point for this team in this particular game.
Next: Mason Plumlee, the rapper?
This is shaping up to be a very fun game to watch and if Denver wins, it will give them some nice momentum going forward.
