Jamal Murray Leads Nuggets to Win with Career-High

While the Nuggets stayed at home for a six game home stand, they were able to take away five wins. The most recent win came tonight after the Orlando Magic visited the Mile High City.

Nuggets v. Magic

Jamal Murray led the way for Denver with a career-high 32 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Will Barton started in place of Gary Harris and had 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists for the night. Nikola Jokic had his second consecutive double-double with 12 points, 17 rebounds, and 8 assists.

Denver made sure to stay ahead through the entire game, leading by 23 at the half, 70-47. After having two 30+ quarters, the Nuggets kept their pace and by the end of three, they were up 98-77. The Nuggets kept their gameplay up and ended the night with a 125-107 win over the Orlando Magic.

Quick Stats

All of Denver’s starters were able to stay positive and were led by the Joker who had a +/- of +27, followed by Murray and Barton with a +18. Wilson Chandler ended the night with a +/- of +13 while Paul Millsap ended with a +9.

A nice stat for the night is that Denver’s starters were able to outscore the Magic starters 99-56. The majority of the work for Orlando came from Evan Fournier (18 points), Marreese Speights (19 points), and Jonathon Simmons (18 points. Speights and Simmons both came off of the bench.

Denver shot exceptionally well tonight as they were 42.9% from the field, 41.4% from beyond the arc, and 77.8% from the free throw line.

The Nuggets were able to have fewer turnovers tonight, as they only had 13 (Orlando had 12). The Magic were able to make 18 points off of Nuggets turnovers and the Nuggets made 15 points from the Magic’s twelve turnovers.

The Nuggets have finally become the leaders in the Northwestern Division with 8 wins and 5 losses on the season.

The next team that the Nuggets will face will be on Monday night in Portland against former Nugget Jusuf Nurkic and the Portland Trail Blazers.
