After a disappointing game earlier this week against Portland, the Nuggets came home and stepped their game up to blow the New Orleans Pelicans out of the Pepsi Center with a 146-113 win.

Nuggets vs. Pelicans

More from Nugg Love

Nugg Love co-expert Matt Huff made it a point just yesterday to address that Gary Harris was due for a breakout game. Harris returned to the court tonight and had the highest +/- for the Nuggets with a +41. Gary finished the night with 22 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists in 31 minutes on the floor.  Jamal Murray led the way for his team with 31 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists in his 34 minutes.

Anthony Davis was the leading scorer for the Pelicans with 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists in 21 minutes. Davis left the game in the third quarter after receiving a concussion after inadvertently being hit in the face by Nikola Jokic. E’Twaun Moore came off of the bench as the second leading scorer for New Orleans with 16 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Quick Stats

All of Denver’s starters were able to stay very positive, none of them being below a +/- +23. A stat that has been fairly consistent is that Denver’s starters were able to greatly outscore the Pelicans starters, 101-64.

Denver shot well tonight, as they were 62.9% from the field, 51.4% from beyond the arc, and 76.2% from the free throw line. As always, Denver struggled with turnovers, as they had 15 (NOLA had 13). Off of Denver’s 15 turnovers, the Pelican’s were able to drop 15 points. Denver was luckily able to convert New Orleans’ turnovers into 20 points.

The Nuggets dropped down to second in the Northwestern Division with 9 wins and 6 losses on the season. Denver is still ahead of Portland and just behind Minnesota, who has 10-5 on their season.

The Nuggets will fly to Los Angeles to face the Lakers on Sunday, November 19th.
