He eventually exited the game and left many Nuggets fans wondering how long the star center may be out. Denver was originally optimistically cautious about the extent of his injury.
Today, the team found out some bad news. Jokic will be sidelined five to eight games.
If there is one positive to take away from this, he will miss the easier part of the Nuggets’ schedule. If he were to miss time while in the middle of December to earlier January, then Denver would be in a lot more trouble than they are currently in.
They are already without Paul Millsap for a few months and seeing there other star going down, fans have to feel as if this franchise is in fact, cursed. On the contrary, Jokic’s injury did look a lot more serious, so maybe us fans should feel grateful it will only be five to eight games he will miss. So, what does this mean for the Nuggets? More players are going to have to step up.
Expect Gary Harris to be the first go to option on offense in this short stretch. Also, Jamal Murray has to start improving if Denver wants to stay competitive without their two best players. Someone like Kenneth Faried, who actually has post season experience, could also be crucial in Jokic’s absence.
If not, then Denver will be in for a very long season once again.
