Malik Beasley showed why he deserves more minutes in the win over the Orlando Magic.

Malik Beasley has once again been getting the short stick when it comes to meaningful minutes this year. In the game against the Orlando Magic though, Coach Malone played him a solid 28 minutes.

He made the most of it by scoring 12 points on 55.6% shooting and coming away with four rebounds as well. Beasley also shot 50% from three point territory and finished the game with a box plus/minus of +11. So, after this performance, why hasn’t he been getting more playing time this season?

Wilson Chandler has been remarkably below average this season and inefficient. Juancho Hernangomez has been dealing with illness and some injuries, but Malone is still keeping Beasley to limited time like he did last year.

The kid has potential, a nice shooting stroke and a hunger to contribute on this growing team. Letting him molt on the bench is not a good way to utilize a young talent like Malik. Not to mention, he is versatile. Beasley has the ability to play both the wing position along with two guard spot.

Especially with the recent struggles on the road, changing things up in the rotation could help Denver solve some of their woes. Throwing Beasley into the mix to shake things up could throw opposing teams for a loop.

Beasley also deserves more time due to how he continues to work on his game and has shown this in Summer League and G League play. The Nuggets would be smart to use his athleticism at the wing, especially with Chandler struggling mightily this season.

Denver must use Beasley more often, otherwise, his talent will just go to waste sitting on the bench. He proved he deserves more time against the Orlando Magic.
