The Denver Nuggets will look to get a spark going against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Denver Nuggets are coming into this match up with the same record as the opposition. Both Portland and Denver currently have a win loss record of 16-15. These teams continue right where they left off last season by once again engaging in a dog fight for a  playoff spot.

While the Blazers do have home court advantage for this game, they will have to really fight for a win. They will be without their best player, super star point guard Damian Lillard. Not to mention, Denver is coming off of two close games one would say they should probably have won. Therefore, they will be hungry to get a win to shift the momentum.

The Nuggets will still have to be wary. Despite not having to face Lillard, they will still have their hands full with star shooting guard, C.J. McCollum. Plus, we still don’t know if we will have Gary Harris back yet. If he is still out with a concussion, then McCollum is viable to have a field day against the Nuggets’ perimeter defense.

The X factor for Denver in this game will be Torrey Craig. The newly acquired G League sensation has made quite an impression in just his first couple of NBA games.

He is labeled a two way player for a reason as he has done a terrific job shutting down some of the league’s best scorers along with being a threat on the offensive end. All in just two games which is very impressive. In the game against the Thunder, Craig tallied 14 points on a perfect 100% shooting. He also help shut down one of the league’s best scorers in Carmelo Anthony, who only scored four points in this particular match up.

If Torrey Craig can have another solid game, then Denver will be in good shape.

However, the defensive key for them will be containing C.J. McCollum. Something which is always easier said than done.
