Gary Harris is having another career year and it is time for him to become an All Star.

With the All Star voting heating up, there is one Nuggets player who is getting criminally overlooked, Gary Harris. While it would be great to see Jokic as a Western Conference All Star as well, Harris has actually made a better case for himself due to his consistency.

He has improved year after year and this season has been no different. According to basketball-reference.com, Harris is averaging a player efficiency rating of 17 on the season to go along with an offensive rating of 115.

Gary is also averaging a true shooting percentage of 60% coupled with an assist percentage of 14.7%, a career high in this category. Compared to another Western Conference shooting guard who has been an All Star, these numbers are very comparable.

In particular, Klay Thompson. Klay is averaging the same true shooting percentage this season and also has a lower assist percentage. Thompson also has a lower offensive rating of 111.

Sadly, it is more likely Thompson will be an All Star than Harris, but this shows how rigged and flawed the voting system is for the All Star game. I am not saying Klay is playing bad this year, quite the contrary, but Harris has been almost as effective as this All Star shooting guard.

For this reason, Harris should be rewarded with an All Star selection and be showcased to the rest of the league as one of the up and coming young stars of the NBA.

Harris has debatebly been better than Nikola Jokic for the Nuggets this year as well. Jokic has seemed to be a bit up and down whereas Harris continues to be a main staple of the high powered Nuggets offense. Not to mention, he is still a good perimeter defender.
