The Denver Nuggets came out with a lack of effort which resulted in a loss to the Phoenix Suns.

Head coach, Michael Malone called out the Nuggets for their lack of effort in the loss to the Phoenix Suns. He was also went on to elaborate on him needing to do a better job as well when it comes to coaching the team.

The Nuggets were defeated by a final score of 108-100 on their home court falling to 23-23 on the season.

Paul Millsap should be coming back anytime soon, but the way Denver looks like right now, they may be in for another rude awakening this year. Nikola Jokic did have a double double as he came away with 14 points and 17 rebounds which included a sweet Dirk Nowitski looking jump shot.

However, the Nugget of the night was Jamal Murray who was involved in a duel with Devin Booker. Booker mocked Murray after a three pointer when he stole Murray’s signature blue arrow move. Murray did have a couple of sweet dunks and came away with 30 points and five rebounds while shooting 58.8% from the field. Sadly, Booker’s 30 points, five rebounds and five assists were what helped the Suns prevail in the end as Denver dropped another very winnable game.

The Nuggets also had a hard time taking care of the ball. They committed 16 turnovers compared to Phoenix’s 11 which proved fatal. Lost possessions can become a demise of any NBA team in the league and we saw it first hand in the Nuggets vs. Suns game.

They did start Trey Lyles at power forward for this game and it actually proved effective. However, Malone made the mistake of not giving him enough minutes in the second half.

If he did, it might have helped Denver mount a comeback and helped Denver stay in the fight to secure a playoff spot.
