The Denver Nuggets have many issues to iron out and one of them is the short rotation Coach Malone continues using.

The Denver Nuggets are one of the deepest teams in the league. Everyone from Nikola Jokic all the way down to Juancho Hernangomez has their own unique skill set. A skill set which can benefit the team greatly.

So, why does head coach, Michael Malone, continue using only an eight man rotation. It has not been working, otherwise, the Nuggets would not be out of the playoff picture right now. This short rotation very well could be the demise of the entire season if things get too out of hand.

Like I said earlier, everyone on this team has their own abilities and can be effective. So, there is no reason for anyone to be getting no minutes, especially when the starters and the immediate bench is clearly gassed.

Nikola Jokic is great, everyone knows this, but he is not super human. Using him too much can wear him out and make him become a detriment down the stretch. And, can someone please explain what Malone’s love affair with Mason Plumlee is? This is not to say he is a bad player, but when he cannot do anything right, it may be time to pull him and put someone else in. But, for some reason, Malone let’s him play through the struggles.

This makes no sense when you have guys like Darrell Arthur and Kenneth Faried sitting on the bench who can provide some meaningful minutes. Now, do not mistake me. I actually like Malone and think he gets a bad wrap a lot.

However, this is one aspect which is just puzzling and can easily fix to at least make the team competitive again. Hopefully, the rotation will increase sooner rather than later.
