The match up to watch in the Nuggets vs. Mavericks game will be Nikola Jokic against Dirk Nowitski.
In what may be Nowitski’s last game to the Mile High, Nikola Jokic will have his work cut out containing the future Dallas hall of famer. Jokic could start at power forward again and will have to guard the legendary power forward if the team uses the “Plumlic,” lineup.

As a result, these two big man could get into a shoot out which will make for an entertaining offensive battle. Nowitski has experience and athleticism on his side while Jokic has youth and crafty passing in his arsenal.
In my honest opinion, I think both of these players will have great games. Nowitski may not be in his prime anymore, but great players know how to go out on top. Case in point, Kobe Bryant’s 60 point game in his very last match up from a couple of seasons ago.
If this is going to be his last game facing off against the Nuggets, Dirk will want to leave his imprint. Jokic is not just going to roll over though. He has been silently effective as of late despite playing out of position. He is coming off a well rounded game against the Knicks where he posted 18 points, seven assists and 10 rebounds. Not a bad double double to lead Denver to a much needed victory.
I can see Nowitski’s talents bringing out the best in Jokic. Dirk will show why he is a one time champion and then Nikola will respond with an impressive play on the offensive end of the floor. As a result, this will make for an entertaining match up between two terrific players.
While Nowitski will actually be able to keep it close for the Mavericks, I think Jokic will be able to push the Nuggets to the win.
