The Denver Nuggets trail the Boston Celtics at the half.

After keeping up with the Boston Celtics for the first few minutes of the first quarter, the Celtics turned on the jets.

More from Nugg Love

Despite nine points and nine rebounds from Nikola Jokic, the Celtics had a lead as high as 18 points at one point. I hate to admit it, but the reffing has been a bit questionable as Mason Plumlee and Nikola Jokic have been fouled many times with no calls.

Mason Plumlee was even assessed a technical after a foul he committed late in the second quarter.

The back court for Denver has been struggling. Gary Harris started getting things going a bit in the second quarter, but Jamal Murray has not been able to find his jumper so far. The bright spot for Murray though is he does have six assists so far.

Kyrie Irving has been explosive like usual for the Celtics so far and is eating the interior defense of Denver alive.

Boston has also made great use of the three point line so far. At one point, they had more points from three than the Nuggets for two point field goals in the second quarter. Despite all of this, the Nuggets were able to somewhat claw back into the game and cut the deficit to 11 points before the half.

Going into the second half, the Nuggets need to stop complaining to the refs and start attacking the rim more. They have settled for jump shots far too often. Against the best defense in the league, they must make them work for it and make them move.

The fouls will eventually come, but Denver needs to come out much more aggressive in the second half.

If Murray can also get his jump shot going, then Denver has a good chance of coming back in the second half.
