LaMarcus Aldridge has a solid night for the Spurs as he put up 30 points and also came away with five rebounds.
Pau Gasol and Manu Ginobli wound back the clock and looked as if they were in their prime again. Ginobli finished with 14 points coming off the bench and Gasol posted 18 points on 53.8% shooting from the field.
The Spurs played great, but there are still some notable Nuggets performers worth mentioning.
Emmanuel Mudiay-B- Mudiay has had a difficult time carving out minutes in the rotation lately. In this game, he was hot. He finished with 14 points on 70% shooting and was the lone bright spot for the Denver second unit. He also took care of the ball as he committed no turnovers and came away with four assists. Now, if he can just keep this level of play up going forward.
Jamal Murray- B+ Murray may have not had the best field goal percentage, but he found other ways to be effective. He still finished with 18 points including another crucial basket (this time a three pointer), in the final minute of the game. Murray also distributed the ball effectively finishing with six assists and also crashed the glass resulting in six rebounds. Not a bad overall stat line for the young and growing combo guard.
Next: Nuggets at Spurs: Takeaways
Nikola Jokic- C+ Jokic started off the game hot. By the end of the first quarter, he was already on triple double watch. Then things start to turn for the worst for the Joker. He allowed LaMarcus Aldridge to come away with 30 points as alluded to already. Yes, he was playing power forward which is out of position for him. However, Jokic needed to be much more aggressive in the second half. The five turnovers did not help his case either. The good news is he still finished with an efficient line of 13 points and eight assists.
