The Nuggets will look to extend their win streak to three games against the Charlotte Hornets.

The Denver Nuggets continue their home stretch by hosting the Charlotte Hornets. After a huge win over the defending champion, Golden State Warriors, Denver has a ton of momentum on their shoulders.

However, this is a classic trap game, one which has plagued the Nuggets many times this season from the likes of the Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks.

If the Nuggets lose this game to the Hornets, it will be a major momentum killer and take their wind out of their sails after two huge wins over the past weeks. Charlotte gave this Denver squad fits last year and Kemba Walker will be the X factor for them.

He is one of the most underrated stars in the league and despite the trade rumors, he will still be a hand full for the Denver defense. Another player to watch out for is Dwight Howard. Howard may not be in his prime anymore, but he is actually having somewhat of a bounce back season with Charlotte. He is the type of player who could catch Nikola Jokic by surprise and could get physical enough to get in his head.

On the other hand, Jokic has proven to get the better of physical big men which will shape up to be an intriguing match up in the paint. Denver has the toughest strength of schedule through a stretch of January 26 to mid February, so it is imperative they win this game against the struggling Charlotte Hornets. Otherwise, the momentum they have right now will be gone and it will be a major punch in the face.

They need to keep up this win streak which will also make the upcoming opponents take notice and respect them.

The trap games have been the achilles heel of this Nuggets squad this year, let’s see if they give the Hornets the respect they deserve.
