The Denver Nuggets ran into  a brick wall against the Houston Rockets.

The Denver Nuggets went up against arguably the hottest team in the NBA right now. The Rockets continued their hot streak as they defeated the Nuggets by a final score of 130-104.

James Harden, Chris Paul and company were simply too much for the young Denver to overcome and their three game win streak came to a streaking halt.

It was Clint Capela who took advantage of the sub par defense in the interior as he came away with 23 points and 25 rebounds in just 29 minutes of play. Extremely efficient numbers from the player who is leading the league in field goal percentage.

The back court of Denver was limited and could not produce anything at all to help the team win at all. Trey Lyles was the lone bright spot as he scored a team high 24 points on 53.3% shooting and also grabbed seven rebounds.

Nikola Jokic did have 14 points, but was still relatively quiet and alluded to earlier, allowed Clint Capela to have his way in the paint with the Nuggets’ interior. Denver came in on a three game win streak and was very confident.

However, the Rockets are on cloud nine right now and look as if no team in the NBA can even touch them. James Harden had a typical James Harden game as he had 28 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds.

Denver simply had no answer for the shooting guard who is also a front runner for the MVP race right now. Gary Harris was completely silenced by the Beard in this game and it hurt Denver in the long run.

However, Denver can regroup now and figure out what to improve in order to get back in the winning column.

The fifth seed in the West is still attainable so they cannot give up now.
