With the trade deadline gone, the Denver Nuggets will be back in action at Houston against the red hot Rockets.

Both the Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets have surprised some people this season. The teams are the only ones to split their season series with the defending champ, Golden State Warriors, this year.

However, they are still leagues away from each other when it comes to their respective records. With the Portland Trail Blazers winning the other night, Denver has fallen back into the seventh seed. Houston on the other hand, is sitting safe and secure in the second seed in the Western Conference playoff picture.

The last time these teams faced off, it was not a pretty sight. The Rockets steam rolled the Nuggets and showed Denver they still had a long ways to go to become an elite force in the Western Conference.

However, this was right after Paul Millsap went down with his wrist injury and this Nuggets squad is much different this time around. They have developed a nice chemistry with each other and are currently on an impressive three game win streak with wins over the Thunder, Warriors and Hornets.

Meanwhile, Houston has had impressive wins over both the Cavaliers and Warriors recently and have been blowing their opponents out of the water. If Denver is not cautious, Houston will run this young core out of the Rockets’ gym.

With Chris Paul and James Harden leading the back court, the young guards for Denver will have their hands full trying to contain these two super star guards. However, the interior will need to be prepared as well. Clint Capela is leading the league in field goal percentage and is a front runner for Sixth Man of the Year.

It will hopefully be a good game between these two teams.
