The recent NBA power rankings have caused quite a stir within the Nuggets fan base.

The recent NBA power rankings have failed to put any respect on the Denver Nuggets’ name. Despite going two and zero in terms of record last week, the Nuggets somehow fell a few spots in the power rankings.

What makes this more puzzling is the teams they beat included the San Antonio Spurs, who are always a playoff fixture, and the Milwaukee Bucks who are in the thick of the post season picture in the Eastern Conference picture.

The teams they put ahead of the Nuggets are very questionable as well. A team like the Jazz makes some sense with the win streak they are on as of right now. However, teams like the Wizards, Trail Blazers and Bucks are very questionable, especially when you take into consideration Denver defeated the Milwaukee Bucks last week.

On top of all this, Denver has only lost one game in the month of February. Their wins have been over quality teams such as the Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs and the defending champion Golden State Warriors. Denver has shown the resiliency to compete with the best of the West so far, with the exception of the Houston Rockets, so if anything, they should be much higher and in the top 10 of the NBA power rankings coming into the post All Star Break period.

Sadly, this is not too surprising considering the national media never likes to give the Denver Nuggets credit where credit is due for them. Apparently, going six and one against some of the top teams in the league is still not enough to gain the recognition they deserve.

One thing is for certain though, the Denver fans know what special thing they have brewing in the Mile High City.
