In this game, the atmosphere will be extremely different. Rather than being in the safe haven of the Pepsi Center, Jamal Murray will most likely be booed every time he touches the ball as the Nuggets will be competing in Staples Center this time around.
The Nuggets are in the thick of the tightly contested Western Conference playoff picture as they are tied with the San Antonio Spurs for ninth in the post season race. The Utah Jazz also possess the same record, but they hold the tie breaker in common opponents giving them the final playoff spot as of right now.
Denver will be in for a tough test against Los Angeles. The Lakers are young, but they have made some terrific strides this year and have actually defeated some of the better teams in the league. They are actually coming off a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers and they will certainly be looking to ride off this momentum.
If the Nuggets have anything going for them, it is the desperation factor. They are treating every game like a must win right now and this should give them the discipline and focus they need to push into the Western Conference playoff picture.
Nikola Jokic and Paul Millsap will have a good opportunity to develop some chemistry together and this will be a perfect game for them to figure each other out as they continue to form some rhythm.
