Denver Nuggets: Jamal Murray is taking an aggressive role…and we love it.
By Blake Holmes
Jamal Murray has been in the headlines quite frequently as of late.
While many fans believe that Denver Nuggets point guard, Jamal Murray, was disrespectful to the rival Los Angeles Lakers, the story remains the same. Jamal has decided to become more aggressive with his game, and has tried to take a bit of a leadership role lately. This is a huge deal, especially when the Nuggets are in a playoff race like they are in the Western Conference. It’s also huge knowing that Murray plays such a crucial role in the Nuggets future.

You may be reading this and wondering, “Why is this news? Why is this such a big deal?” Well, the answer is that he’s a better player when he’s playing aggressively. Has he created a bit of a rivalry with the Lakers? Maybe so, but watching this team is so much more fun when they play with that type of fire in the rivalry. Also, if they found a way to make the playoffs this year and get Murray some playoff experience, look out for the development of this young gun.
For the record, I really don’t understand why so many Lakers fans took what he did to heart. He did something that plenty of NBA fans do in their careers, a small taunt after a good play. They didn’t get upset when Kobe did it, they don’t get upset when any other player does it.
Sorry, I’m getting off topic. Murray is a better play-maker, shooter, and defensive player when he’s not playing passive. When Malone gives him an opportunity to create his shot, he and Jokic give the Nuggets such an advantage that some teams don’t have.
Just how important is Jamal Murray to the team’s future? Well, Denver Nuggets fans everywhere are hoping that he can be good enough to help them to the playoffs while also holding a good rivalry with teams like the Lakers. They hope that he can be a part of a group of guys that calls the Mile High City their homes for a long time, and making a great back-court with fellow guard Gary Harris.
