Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets is bound to have a terrific season.
With that being said, it is worth wondering whether or not he will be able to make the All Star Game.

While the talent is certainly there, it will be extremely difficult for him to make it in the loaded Western Conference. While a third year jump is expected, the All Star point guards in the Western Conference are super stars in their own right.
Let’s see who Murray would have to beat out in order to make the All Star Game.
First, there is Russell Westbrook. A sure lock as an All Star. Then, there is Chris Paul and James Harden. Most likely locks to be All Stars.
Of course, there is also Steph Curry. Definite lock as an All Star. If you count those up, that is four All Stars at the point guard spot for the Western All Stars.
While Jamal Murray does have a Steph Curry type of ceiling, it seems like next season is not in the cards for an All Star Game nomination for the Kentucky prospect. Not when you have these four players who are still in the prime or at least on the down hill slide of their prime competing out West.
It would have to take a litany of things to occur for Murray to make it. First of all, one or two players would have to get injured to open a spot up for an injury replacement. Second of all, Denver will have to achieve a ton of success and perhaps make a run for the third seed.
This would create the necessary attention for Jamal Murray to make it as the fans and coaches around the league would finally begin to take notice.

However, as promising as next year seems for Jamal, we will have to most likely wait for Murray to become an All Star.
