The Denver Nuggets got a bargain for Isaiah Thomas, but will he be able to bounce back?

The Denver Nuggets were able to make another splash in free agency by signing Isaiah Thomas. The shocking part is that they got him a one year veteran minimum deal.

However, will the Nuggets get the Isaiah Thomas from the Boston Celtics who was an MVP candidate? Or, will they get the inconsistent and injury prone point guard off the bench who we saw last year with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Lakers?

Well, in order for the 10 year veteran, a few things need to happen. First of all, Thomas needs to fully embrace his role. If he is to back up Jamal Murray, then he must be willing to do this without hesitation and be willing to assist the second unit with any inconsistencies they may possess.

Second of all, he needs to unlock the killer instinct he once possessed yet again. If he can do this, it will be a massive steal for the Denver Nuggets’ organization and maybe net him a solid contract in the future. Denver is in need of someone they can go to on the offensive side of the floor in the waning moments of a close game. A revived and healthy Isaiah Thomas would be extremely valuable for the team.

The third and final thing Thomas must do in order to bounce back this coming season and show the league how deadly of an offensive weapon he can be. Yes, this kind of ties into being a clutch player in the fourth quarter, but he must be a great offensive force overall.
