Isaiah Thomas

Projected Rating: 82

I think that Thomas will get a 1 point increase from his 2K18 rating.

After starting the game among the elite with a rating of 89, he quickly dropped off after he came back from his hip injury and was absolutely atrocious for the Cavaliers. He shot a career low from the floor(36.1%) and from 3(25.3%) while maintaining the lowest assist-to-turnover ratio of his career(1.61). In fact, he was so bad on the Cavaliers, they traded him after just 15 games of his services to the Lakers for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr.

After that, he improved a lot. After just 2 games with 20+ points on the Cavaliers, he put up that total in 6 games for the Lakers. He upped his averages in every major stat, including bringing his 3-point percentage up 7.4%. While he still battled with injury on the Lakers, it seems things may be looking up for him.

Even though he didn’t play the final 11 games of the Lakers season, 2 months ago, he sent out this tweet:

So, after several hip surgeries, it seems like IT may finally be healthy for this upcoming season. I think that combining the improvement he showed at the end of last season with his rising health will result in a rating starting at 82, but with the potential to fluctuate even higher by the end of the season.
