Monte Morris

Projected Rating: 70

Monte Morris’ 2K18 rating remained stagnant throughout the year.

As he only played 3 games for the Nuggets in the 2017-18 season, Morris never got a chance to prove or disprove his rating, a 68 overall. So why am I predicting he will fly 2 overall points north of that in 2K19? Answer: He balled out at the Summer League.

He led the Nuggets in points per game(17.5) and assists per game(6.3) while ranking top 20 in ppg and top 10 in apg at the Las Vegas tournament. While the Nuggets couldn’t progress very far in the event, a lot of people were impressed with the poise he displayed handling the ball and the chemistry he displayed with teammate Malik Beasley.

Morris has a pretty high ceiling as an offensive do-it-all point guard. He can pass, score, and shoot 3s on occasion, making him an asset that any team would enjoy having. While he doesn’t look like he will ever be anything except an average defender, his offensive potential is something that should make his 2K rating shoot up over the next few years.

After getting a multi-year contract from the Nuggets, not only has he completed the Denver roster, but he should show the developers at 2K that he is worthy of being a 70+.
