The Denver Nuggets are in for a make or break year.

The Denver Nuggets have substantially improved the past few years. Despite finishing one game out of the post season for two years in a row, one cannot help but notice the potential of this young team.

However, it will be easier said than done to make the playoffs this upcoming season. The Lakers added the greatest player in the world in LeBron James, the Golden State Warriors added DeMarcus Cousins, the Rockets are set to add Carmelo Anthony and even the lottery teams from last year are bound to be better like the Grizzlies and the Mavericks.

What does this mean exactly? It means the Western Conference got even more competitive just when you thought it could not get any tougher.

This upcoming year is still do or die for the Denver Nuggets though. If they fail to reach the post season, then there is going to be a few people on the hot seat. Especially head coach, Michael Malone.

I know he has improved Denver’s record every year since he took over the head coaching duties. However, there is too much talent on this roster for him to miss the playoffs by three games or less three consecutive years.

Even if the Western Conference is getting better year by year. Not to mention, certain players will be on the hot seat for their job as well. A player like Paul Millsap who may be in for his last year as a Denver Nugget may be let go if he has a down year and the team does not make the playoffs.

Remember, the team has the option to bring him back for a third year or let him walk.
