When it comes to has the smoothest jump shot on the Denver Nuggets, there is no question on who it is.

That would be Jamal Murray. If you see the starting Denver Nuggets point guard shoot the ball, it is like watching a type of art in motion.

Nothing against other great shooters on the team, but Murray’s jumper is so fluid and effortless, it makes sense why people say he could be the next Steph Curry. By now, you are probably tired of hearing he is the next Curry, but all of us here at Nuggets Nation and Nugg Love cannot help but feel excited about his potential.

Mark my words, Jamal is going to have a few game winning shots in his future. He can hit the three point shot with ease and is even great shooting off the dribble. He showed many times last season he can be effective from mid range, at the basket or from down town.

Per basketball reference, Murray had a field goal percentage of 48% from 10-16 feet away from the basket. When he shot 16 feet or deeper, Murray had a field goal percentage of 39.5%. Only 39.8% of Murray’s two point shots were assisted on which goes to show he knows how to create his own shot as well.

We have even seen videos of Murray knocking down extremely deep three point shots at a consistent rate in practice. Yes, it is practice, but it is still impressive.

He is in for a massive jump in his third year and this is a great sign for the Denver Nuggets franchise. Murray was able to avoid the dreaded sophomore slump and instead, increased much of his scoring production.

If Jamal can keep up this pace of development, then we will see more great strides in not just his scoring and jump shooting, but his overall game as well.
