Coming into this season, the sky is the limit for the Denver Nuggets.

Just how far can this young team go is the real question. While there is certainly a possibility of missing the post season in the tough Western Conference, it is hard to envision seeing this team on the rise miss the playoffs again.

More from Nugg Love

This season has break out year written all over it for this particular Denver Nuggets squad. By now, we pretty much all know the young core and what each projected starter brings to the table. Now, the question becomes, what seed will the team finish at and how far can they go if they do make the post season?

Do not be surprised if this young core shocks the NBA and makes a surprise run to the Western Conference Finals. Let’s think about this for a second.

The Nuggets are already being dubbed by many as a dark horse team for success this coming year anyway. Who is to say that will not translate over to the post season?

Then, the team gets a few lucky breaks in the first round, is able to get some key upsets depending on who their match up is, God forbid some injuries occur which is bound to happen to every team, and suddenly, it is not so crazy to think this team has a legitimate shot at the conference finals.

“Mathew, you can say that about any team though?” Not necessarily. In order to succeed in the playoffs, you need some talent, otherwise you are a lock for a first round exit. I firmly believe this Nuggets team has the rising talent necessary to make this type of run.

Not to mention, Isaiah Thomas and Paul Millsap will prove crucial in the post season with all of their past experiences in the playoffs.

While this is certainly a bold take, I have a ton of faith in this Denver Nuggets team. I have so much faith, I am willing to predict they will meet the defending champion, Golden State Warriors, in the Conference Finals if all the dominoes fall into place.
