For those that do not know, Basketball without Borders is a program associated with the NBA and FIBA which is focused on being an outreach program to bring basketball to young kids all around the world.
It is great to see Nikola Jokic giving back to his own community and connect with the younger generations. What is also great is seeing Gary Harris go out of his way to go to Serbia and also show the chemistry he has developed with his teammate and friend, Nikola Jokic.
Harris is beginning to make his name more known in multiple NBA circles and now, the charity department is going to take notice of his work as well.
The NBA has made sure to make it’s presence felt in the charity department within the last decade and to say they have done a good job doing this would be an understatement. Now, with the Nuggets boasting a star Euro big man, they will start to gain even more international attention.
Denver surprisingly already has a strong presence in the international market, but Nikola Jokic giving back to his community is only going to help not only their image, but his own persona as well. Hopefully, we will see more of this from Nikola Jokic and Gary Harris from the future.
Not to mention, it will not be surprising to see more of the Nuggets roster get involved in this and do some of their own work overseas.
All in all, it is great to see arguably the two best players getting involved in Basketball without Borders.
