The Denver Nuggets showed a ton of resiliency in the second half as they went on to win by a final score of 113-111.

The Denver Nuggets looked like they were reeling in the first half. They were down by 11 points and eventually went on to be down as many as 18 points.

However, if there is one thing about this Denver Nuggets’ team, it is that they never give up, no matter how bleak things may seem. Thanks to some great performances from the bench yet again, the offensive firepower of the Nuggets was simply too much for the Lakers’ defense to contain.

More from Nugg Love

Mason Plumlee was the story of the night as he finished with a game high 23 points and was a perfect 100% from the field! The back up for Nikola Jokic has really impressed in the first two preseason games.

Malik Beasley put on another solid showing as he finished with 15 points while shooting 50% from both the field and three point territory. He even came away with a crucial steal and block which made a huge impact on the game late in the fourth quarter.

We even got to see a bit more of Donald Sloan in this game who is trying to make the roster as a NBA journeyman. He made some clutch plays for a total of 12 points, including a go ahead three point shot which put the Nuggets up with around 37 seconds to go in the game. As one can imagine, this ignited the Nuggets’ bench with excitement as the main core guys in Jamal Murray, Gary Harris and others were celebrating Sloan’s made shot.

They care about each other and want everyone to succeed, no matter what role they may have, and that is the beauty of this particular Denver Nuggets’ squad.

Trey Lyles also showed off his versatility again as he finished with 12 points while shooting perfect from three point territory. He also made what seemed to be an impossible mid range jump shot with the shot clock winding out, which ended up willing itself off the rim and through the net.

The Nuggets suddenly got a lot more attentive and alert on the defensive end around the mid third quarter mark. As a result, it made the Lakers work a lot harder for their shots and they were no longer getting easy shots at the rim or three pointers in the corner. This was the catalyst for a solid fourth quarter which saw the Nuggets out score the Lakers 35-27.

In the end, the Nuggets were able to get their second win in a row over the Los Angeles Lakers.
