The Denver Nuggets will be taking on another team residing in Los Angeles this preseason.

This time, the Denver Nuggets will be battling the Los Angeles Clippers instead of the Los Angeles Lakers. This will shape up to be an intriguing match up as both teams actually appear somewhat evenly matched and always make for a fun and entertaining game to watch.

Remember, the Clippers came close to cracking the top eight in the West and making the post season last year, very similar to the Denver Nuggets and their eventual fate.

Despite no longer having Deandre Jordan, Blake Griffin and Chris Paul at his disposal, head coach of the Clippers, Doc Rivers, still has plenty of weapons to tinker with as he tries to get this team to mesh.

With that in mind, what is the one match up we should all keep an eye on in this particular game? That would be Lou Williams vs. Gary Harris.

While Harris starts at shooting guard and Williams comes off the bench as a bit of a combo guard, one should expect to see these two facing off quite a bit.

Jamal Murray is not nearly as adept as Gary Harris defensively, so head coach, Michael Malone, will most likely give the responsibility of keeping Williams in check to Gary. Harris is the team’s best perimeter defender as he lead the team in steals last season averaging 1.8 steals per game and even notching a couple of All Defensive Team votes.

He also held a defensive box plus/minus score of -1.5 while playing for a poor defensive unit and having to guard some of the league’s most elite two guards a lot in James Harden and Klay Thompson.

On the other end, we have the reigning Sixth Man of the Year in Lou Williams. Williams is a journeyman who seems to have found his home in L.A. now and fully embraces his role of coming off the bench, as evident from his award from last season. He is a versatile and crafty guard who can find a way to get 25-30 points on any given night no matter who is guarding him.

Last season, Williams averaged a career high 22.6 points per game to go along with a field goal percentage of 43.5%. Not to mention, he also had an offensive box plus/minus of 3.8 and an offensive rating of 112.
