There is absolutely nothing like opening night for the Denver Nuggets.

Nothing as a Denver Nuggets fan.

Especially after your football team sucks.  Your baseball team just got swept 0-3 out of the postseason.

And you have a childhood team..

That has missed the PAST TWO YEARS..into the playoffs…by just one game.

ONE

One.

More from Nugg Love

There is only so many times as said committed Nuggets fan, can you tap on the shoulder of your  depressed Bronco fan on the shoulder, and say, “Heyyy don’t worry, the Nuggets will be on soon.”

“The Nuggets?”

Yeah, the Nuggets.  Ahem..They are going good this year…..I promise.”

“Really?…..hmm”

Yes, really.  After game numero uno, I can ascertain, they are in fact, that good.

(And never will that change after the first of 5 months of games.  Never does, never has. Idiots.).

THINGS I WAS LOOKING FOR IN THIS GAME:

  • Jokic’s “Fitness‘ Level
    • Shamefully enough, I was very curious to how much Pepsi flab, or notable tricep horseshoe there was going to be to old boy’s arm tonight.  There has been rumors going on around Denver’s locker room (such as Jamal Murray juicing 15 extra lbs)
  • How would Trey Lyles do?
    • When polled, I call out Trey Lyles as my break out player this year.   Lyles best stand out play tonight was a breakaway layup after a steal in top of the second.  Was hoping to see more ruckus out of him, but more than one game..a season makes.  Just wait for him around New Years.
    • Heard about Gary Harris aggressive towards the hoop..you?
      • Heard about it. But, nope.  Didn’t see tonight.  Defense nod off the night goes to Millsap.  Millsap…welcome back!  Denver’s finest.
      • How does our bench compare to last year’s NBA LOW RANK we had last 2 seasons?
        • The Monte Morris/Amber Rose celeb duo actually exuded a presence of confidence to a fluidity which caught me off guard.  This will be the key to the season.
        • No longer?
        • We’ll see.
        • Last thought….

This Boban character on the Clipper’s is perhaps, making his way, in two years, to a top Nugget’s nemesis list for the past couple decades.

Who is this guy??  He doesn’t even jump or even move off the ground when as he dunks.  It’s like… throwing a La Croix away…from the top of a step stool… when no one else is in the kitchen to block it.

          NUGGETS ARE BACK.

          Undefeated 1-0.
