Denver Nuggets get key win over Pelicans
By Mathew Huff
The Denver Nuggets were able to get back into the win column.
The Denver Nuggets came into this game with a chip on their shoulder. After a heart breaking loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Nuggets were in a strange place.
However, they were able to catch a bit of a break as Anthony Davis sat out the second straight game and as a result, Denver’s front court had a hay day.
Nikola Jokic did not shoot exactly well (3-8 from the field), but still was only one rebound away from a triple double.

Paul Millsap was able to have a bounce back game and came alive on the offensive end of the floor in the second half as he came away with 18 points on 50% shooting to go along with eight rebounds and a steal and block.
Trey Lyles was also huge off the bench as he got 17 points and had a few momentum shifting plays to keep the team afloat.
However, the two players of the game reside in the back court. Jamal Murray and Gary Harris. Both back court players scored 23 points and were able to out play the talented Pelicans’ front court, who did not have exactly a bad game either (Jrue Holiday was 53% from the field).
Harris had maybe the best all around game this season for himself tallying six assists, six rebounds, a block and two steals.
Murray was aggressive from the get go and tallied five rebounds and shot 47% from the field.
The Denver Nuggets came in to this game knowing they needed to get their confidence back. Despite giving up over 100 points on defense again, it looks like they may be finding their footing offensively finally.
Six different players on the team scored in double figures in this particular match up with New Orleans. That means 50% of the active roster for this game had at least 10 points, which shows how potent this offensive scheme can be at times.
Yes, the Pelicans were without their best player, but at the end of the day, the Nuggets will gladly take this win as they continue to build up their win loss record for their post season push.
