The Denver Nuggets took on the Boston Celtics at home in a close win, and my Player of the game is Jamal Murray.

Was there ever really a question on who was the player of the game for the Denver Nuggets? Jamal Murray broke a career high for points in a half with his 27 point outburst in the first half, and he never really stopped from there, putting up 48 points, a new career high.

The Nuggets knew that they would need a great game from the young guy, and he was excited to play against the terrific guard that is Kyrie Irving.

Not to mention that Boston was hungry for a statement game after a late loss to Indiana.

More from Nugg Love

Take that monster first half, and then throw on his unconscious fourth quarter where he single-handedly kept Denver in the game, and you have a career highlight. Murray was out of his mind, using the entire court to put the ball in the bucket from the paint, to beyond the arc.

Now, there are a couple of things that he needs to work on after this game. First, he needs to figure out how to limit his turnovers, as there were several instances where there were some easy points given to the Celtics on a fast break lay-up. Taking care of the ball is so quintessential in the game, and Murray got away with a few bad passes.

Lastly, and I know that it’s minor, but it’s important to know some unwritten rules of basketball. Murray has to know that he can’t take a shot from deep like he did as time expires, no matter how many points he has. Not only does that make you look a little selfish, but an enemy team remembers things like that.

However, he’s young, and the expertise that comes with playing in the league will come even further for him.

Next. Why you should support the Denver Nuggets. dark

For now, enjoy the new career high Blue Arrow, you put the team on your back this game.
