The Denver Nuggets take on the Memphis Grizzlies and the match up to watch should not be a surprise.
Of course, I am talking about the Denver Nuggets’ own Nikola Jokic vs. Marc Gasol.
While Pau’s brother may be on the decline, he still has a gritty toughness which could give any center in the league fits. That includes Nikola Jokic.
Jokic may have gotten the upper hand last year on him as the Nuggets won the season series over the Grizzlies, but that may just add to a potential chip on Gasol’s shoulder.

It will be easier said than done for both of these guys. Jokic is having a career year as he is averaging 7.7 assists per game along with 17 points per game. He is also averaging an effective field goal percentage of 57.2% and is also averaging a career best box plus/minus of 11.3.
At the beginning of the season, it was even looking like the Joker was going to be a sleeper MVP candidate and that is still very possible if can start scoring in double figures consistently again (he has been held to single digit points in the last 3 games.)
Gasol on the other hand, is having a down year, but is still finding ways to be effective. He currently possesses a defensive rebounding average of 7.9 per game to go along with a defensive rating of 102.
Not to mention, he also has a total rebounding percentage of 15.5% as well to go along with a true shooting percentage of 53.8%. All in all, this is going to be an exciting match up to watch.
You have a tough minded defensive center capable of scoring at will on one side. On the other side, you have an up and coming superstar talent who could transcend the position. Hopefully, the Joker will come away victorious at the end of the night after a hard fought battle with one of the very talented Gasol brothers.
If Jokic can get the upper hand, then it should easily translate into another victory for the surprising Denver Nuggets.
