Coming into the season, the Denver Nuggets had high hopes for Gary Harris .

The Denver Nuggets’ starting two guard, Gary Harris, is one of the most underappreciated players in the entire league.

Since year one in the league, he has made significant strides and improvements in his game. He has even refined his game to become one of Denver’s most trusted offensive options as well.

What his calling card has always been though, is his ability to defend.

More from Nugg Love

Harris has yet to receive All NBA Defensive Team honors in his career, but he will get there someday. He did receive two votes for the team last season, but this year, might finally be the year where he cracks at least the All Defensive Second Team.

As of November 19, Harris is averaging a defensive rating of 109, the best since his rookie season. Not to mention, he is averaging 1.3 steals per game to go along with a steal percentage of 1.8% and a career high block percentage of 1.6%.

As of November 19, Harris has yet to allow a match up to score 10 or more points on him. This has included Gary holding notable names such as Klay Thompson to only eight points when being guarded by him, Jayson Tatum to only two points, Devin Booker to only three points, Jrue Holiday to 2.5 points and Zach LaVine to only seven points.

Harris can keep up with the best of them on the perimeter and he is showcasing it again this year. I have always said it before it and I will say it again. Gary Harris is the Chris Harris Jr. or this team, Denver Broncos fans will understand the comparison.

He has worked his way up in the ranks of the league and so far, it looks as if it will finally be noticed as he has a strong case for All Defensive Honors right now.
