The Denver Nuggets are off to one of their most promising starts in franchise history.

The Denver Nuggets have taken the league by storm this season. They are playing so well, even certain ESPN programs are finally taking notice. Case in point.

We all know that the Nuggets are one of the funnest teams to watch in the league.

More from Nugg Love

Their fluid offense coupled with their incredible depth has made for some great offensive moments and a solid and improved defense this season (103.2 defensive rating which ranks third in the entire league so far.)

We know that the Nuggets most likely won’t win a title this year. But, the near future? Well, as Kevin Garnett once said, anything is possible.

If they do start winning titles, could they be the next generation of the San Antonio Spurs? The Spurs with a prime Tim Duncan, young Tony Parker and a prime Manu Ginboli? The Spurs with a solidified head coach in Gregg Popovich and some key role players like Bruce Bowen?

I personally believe the Denver Nuggets have the potential to accomplish this feat. Keep in mind, the Nuggets were ranked fifth in offensive efficiency last season.

Once the Nuggets get healthy this year, they very well could climb back to this ranking while keeping their defensive intensity on par with where they are at as of right now. Let’s take a look at some key team stats from the Spurs in 2007 when they won a title over the Cavaliers.

They were ranked second in defensive rating with a rating of 99.4 and were also ranked fifth in offensive rating that particular year with a rating of 108.6 in this particular category.

The Nuggets certainly have the potential to become the next successful San Antonio Spurs and the numbers back this type of statement.
