ESPN BPI has ranked the Denver Nuggets as title contenders.
For once, the Denver Nuggets are getting their due for once. ESPN has ranked them extremely high in one of their coveted advanced categories.
According to their BPI, the Denver Nuggets are currently ranked first in BPI making them the favorites as of right now to bring the title home.
For those who do not know, BPI stands for basketball power index which, as alluded to earlier, is taken very seriously by man NBA fans.

BPI is meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance for the rest of the season. It also happens to represent how many points above or below average a team is for the year. If you are wanting to see a graphic of this, you can find it at ESPN.com or even the Denver Nuggets reddit page.
Oh, and if you are wondering, yes I said they were ranked near the top and even have a slight advantage in percentage to win the title over the defending champion, Golden State Warriors (Denver has a 15.1% chance and the Warriors have a 15% chance at winning the title this season.)
The BPI also has the Nuggets finishing with a win loss record of 54-28, one less win than what the Warriors are projected to finish the season with which is impressive to say the very least.
Other notable teams the Nuggets are projected to finish with better win loss record include the Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Pelicans, Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets.
As you can see, most of these teams made the post season last year, so it will be interesting to see if this current BPI comes true.
All in all, it is great to see Denver projected to finish so well.
