The Denver Nuggets’ achilles heel as been their defensive efficiency the past few seasons.

Last year, they were ranked 25th in the league in defensive efficiency. The year before, they were ranked 29th in the same category, which is second to last in the league.

This season, however, is a completely different story. As of December 26, 2018, the team is ranked seventh in this category.

A massive improvement going to the top 10 in this category after being in the bottom five last season and they are ranked this high without Paul Millsap and Gary Harris, their two best defenders.

Not to mention, they are ranked in the top 10 in defensive rating which happens to be ahead of the defending champion Golden State Warriors.

Plus, Denver is also ranked in the top 10 for general team defense this year as well.

This will be crucial to going far in the post season, as this has been what has killed the past post season teams the Denver Nuggets have heralded.
