It’s a fun time to be a Denver Nuggets fan as they are still the number one team in the Western Conference.
Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets is playing like a superstar, and legitimate MVP candidate. Jamal Murray has shown an ability to score at an elite level at times and the good news keeps coming. Monte Morris has been a pleasant surprise coming from the G league to a quality backup point guard to say the least.
With the returns of Paul Millsap and Gary Harris, the Nuggets look like they have the ability to stick around and compete with the top dogs in the conference.
The role players have been exceptional as well with Juan Hernangomez, Mason Plumlee, and Malik Beasley contributing every game. The return of Will Barton is expected within a week and Isaiah Thomas had said he expected to be back in December.

So, unless there is an unforeseen setback he’s due to be back anytime. That may provide a bit of a riddle for Michael Malone as it pertains to the rotation, but the Nuggets certainly have all the moving pieces of a contender.
The Nuggets have games against Sacramento and Charlotte to build chemistry with our ever changing rotation before a trip to Houston to face the Rockets who’ve won 9 of their last 10. The Nuggets haven’t gotten all their wins in a pretty way and some they’ve made downright tough on themselves like they did with the Knicks, but they have fought to stay on top and deserve to be there.
Going forward they’ll face new challenges, but this team has showed their ability to overcome everything thrown at them so far.
The infusion of talent coming back from injury should make this team even better provided the chemistry remains. The players coming back are everyday players from this year and last with the exception of Isaiah Thomas.
The story lines get better by the night for Nuggets fans. Can Denver stay on top, what players are returning to health, how’s the team gelling?
And finally a spoiler on a future post… If Denver gets everybody healthy will they consider trading depth for star power when the deadline approaches?
