The Denver Nuggets will be in for a fight with the Kings.

The Denver Nuggets will look to extend their winning streak as they travel to Sacramento to battle the new and improved Kings. The Sacramento Kings are not your old Kings anymore.

They are feisty this season and have the makings of a young core who could be elite in the near future led by their second year point guard in De’Aaron Fox.

Speaking of Fox, he will be one player to keep an eye on in this game. As a matter of fact, the matchup to watch for me will be between him and Denver’s own young point guard, Jamal Murray.

More from Nugg Love

Jamal Murray is having his best season of his career as he is in the running for the Most Improved Player of the Year award. With this in mind, the Denver Nuggets will have a battle at the point guard spot which could very well determine the outcome of this road game.

This season, De’Aaron Fox is averaging 18.1 points per game to go along with an effective field goal percentage of 51%. He is also averaging an impressive 7.5 assists per game coupled with an improved offensive rating of 110. Last year, he finished with an offensive rating of 94.

Jamal Murray is also having a stellar season as alluded to already. Murray is coming off a relatively disappointing eight point game, but is still averaging 18.3 points per game to go along with an effective field goal percentage of 48%.

His offensive rating currently stands at 105 coupled with a career high assist average of 4.9 per game. He has really upped his game this season especially in terms of facilitating the offense.

This matchup at the point guard position could very well be a seeing point into the future of other great duels between these two young guards. After all, both have a ton of potential and could help alter the fortunes of their franchises in a good way.

Let’s hope that this matchup to watch lives up to this potential along with the Nuggets winning yet another game to maintain their position as the first seed in the Western Conference.
