The Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic is getting many votes for the All Star Game.

However, that does not mean the Denver Nuggets‘ big man will be a starter in the All Star Game come February.

Nikola Jokic has been on a tear this season averaging 18 points per game (PPG), 7.6 assists per game (APG), 1.5 steals per game (SPG) , 9.9 rebounds per game (RPG) and an effective field goal (EFG) percentage of 53.3% as of January 3rd.

The first returns for the All Star votes were just released a couple days ago and Nikola Jokic tallied 235,272 votes.

Other notable front court players in the Western Conference who got more votes include LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Steven Adams, Paul George and Luka Doncic. Many of these make sense, but you could argue with Steven Adams and Luka Doncic.

As of the 3rd of January, Adams is averaging 15.6 PPG, 1.7 APG, 10.2 RPG, 1.4 SPG and an EFG of 59.3%. For Doncic, he is averaging 19.5 PPG, five APG, 6.6 RPG, 1.1 SPG and an EFG 51.7%.

I am not trying to take anything away from these two players, but it is clear that Jokic has better numbers than these two. Not to mention, Jokic and Doncic are the clear cut leaders of their team whereas Steven Adams is the third part of the Thunder’s big three.

While neither of these three players are not going to be selected as the starters, that will most likely going to go to LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis and/or Paul George. This means there is still a chance that Jokic will snubbed.

If he is, then it is clear that the voting for the All Star Game must be changed in order to get the correct players into the All Star Game.

All in all, the Joker is having a great season if it does not get him into the All Star Game, then the voting for the event needs a drastic overhaul.
