The Denver  Nuggets opened their series against the San Antonio Spurs with a disappointing 101-96 loss, but battled back from a 19-point deficit midway through the third to take the win 114-105 and bring the series to 1-1 heading to San Antonio.

Through two games the Denver Nuggets have run the full gambit of looking downright bad to looking like a team that could give any team in the playoffs a run for their money. Players have stepped up into bigger roles with more importance on each shot, while others have struggled to shoot the ball with confidence.

The Spurs have played exactly how they have all season, stars LaMarcus Aldridge and Demar DeRozan are kings of the mid-range both taking a majority of their looks from inside the three-point line while coach Greg Popovich and his never-ending assembly line of Spurs role players use good ball movement and spacing to create good looks from behind the arc where San Antonio led the league in three-point percentage this season.

Meanwhile the Nuggets have looked like they are still getting their playoff legs under them, but Denver has shown extended periods of play where they have looked better than the Spurs, as well as players stepping up and making plays during the playoffs.
